AMMA:  Amateur Movie Makers Association (Formerly SAVAC:  Society of Amateur Videomakers and Cinematographers:)

We highly recommend this organization!!  It is a great place for beginners to show off their movie-making "stuff" and to learn from some others who have been around for a while.  AMMA is a non-profit educational organization devoted to promoting interest among its members and the public in the art and craft of amateur movie-making in all formats. It is also a forum for getting ideas and help from some of the best amateur film and video makers in the United States and Canada.  The major annual event of this organization is the Amateur Moviemakers' Convention & Festival which includes the following:

      AMMA Magic Moments Contest

  • Workshops
  • Equipment demonstrations and exhibits

NCV is a club dedicated to helping hobbyists, amateur, and professional videomakers in Escondido, CA. 

By LightTrek Productions.  A simply wonderful site.  Totally original ship design and stories of the USS Providence.  Great for getting your creative juices flowing for video projects, even though the site is not about video. 
TechTV The online presence of the excellent Cable/Satellite TV show all about computers, software, and more.  Not too much on videography per se, still a marvelous source for learning about technical issues related to all things computers.  Digital Video Editing  by By Alexei Oreskovic of Tech TV.  Introductory and sweeping.  Links to related articles.
